Jerusalem
יְרוּשָׁלַיִם

On June 7, 1967 — the 28th of Iyar — Israeli paratroopers reached the Western Wall for the first time in 19 years. That moment changed history. In 2027, we mark 60 years of Jerusalem's reunification with celebration, pilgrimage, and gratitude.

Walk the Via Dolorosa. Touch the Western Wall. Stand on the Mount of Olives at dawn. Enter through Zion's Gate — its bullet-scarred stones a living witness to 1948 — and stand on the Mount of Zion, where King David is entombed and where Jesus shared the Last Supper with his disciples. There is no place on earth like this city — sacred to billions, resonant with 3,000 years of story.

Haifa
חֵיפָה

Draped across the slopes of Mount Carmel above the Mediterranean, Haifa is Israel's most serene and multicultural city — a place where Jewish, Arab, Christian, and Bahá'í communities have lived side by side for generations as a quiet testament to coexistence.

The crown jewel is the Bahá'í World Centre — nineteen concentric terraces of manicured gardens cascading 1,000 feet down to the sea, centered on a golden-domed shrine that glows at sunset. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most geometrically perfect places on earth.

Stroll the German Colony below, lined with 19th-century Templar stone buildings now filled with cafés and restaurants. Ride the Carmelit — Israel's only underground funicular — up through the mountain neighborhoods. Wander Wadi Nisnas at Christmastime, when the Arab quarter strings a million lights for the Festival of Festivals.

Jesus' home base during his Galilean ministry. The ruins of an ancient synagogue — where he taught — still stand, covered by a modern church suspended dramatically above the lake.

Planning Your Journey

✈️
Getting There
Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) near Tel Aviv, 45 min to Jerusalem. Direct flights from major US hubs (NYC, LA, Chicago, Miami). Etihad via Abu Dhabi is a scenic option.
📅
When to Visit
Jerusalem Day 2027 falls in early June — perfect weather. Spring (April–June) is the most beautiful time: wildflowers, warm days, cool nights.
🛡️
Safety & Visas
US citizens don't need a visa. Israel issues an ETA-IL (electronic travel authorization) online. Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical evacuation is strongly recommended.
🚗
Getting Around
Rent a car for maximum freedom. Israel is tiny — Tel Aviv to Jerusalem is 45 min, to Haifa 90 min, to Sea of Galilee 2 hrs. The train system is excellent between major cities.
🏨
Where to Stay
Jerusalem: King David Hotel or Abraham Hostel. Tel Aviv: boutique hotels near Rothschild Blvd. Tiberias: lakeside resort on the Kinneret shore.
🍽️
Food & Culture
Israeli food is extraordinary — hummus, shakshuka, sabich, fresh falafel, rooftop wine bars. Mahane Yehuda in Jerusalem and Carmel Market in Tel Aviv are culinary pilgrimages.
